Today, Google launched version 4.2 of its Google My Business (GMB) API. With this update, Google has added features which help businesses manage their listings more easily and provide deeper information about their locations.
This latest update supports:
If your business isn’t already verified with Google, you can initiate the verification process via email, postcard, phone call, or SMS text message — and input verification codes — via API. Previously, you could only handle verification within the Google My Business UI. This update will save you time and energy, so you can refocus your efforts on other parts of your business.
Initiate Ownership Conflict Resolution
You can now use the API to identify Google Maps listings which are already claimed. If another Google account has already claimed your listing, you can visit a direct link provided by Google to begin the ownership conflict resolution process.
Is your business a chain store? Note to Google that your locations are part of an established enterprise.
Google Posts: Products
If you are a small business using Google Posts, you can now post Products with details, product name, price, and price range. This feature is only available to businesses with fewer than 10 locations.
