Yext names Ho Shin as General Counsel

Yext, the global Location Data Management leader, today announced that Ho Shin has joined the company’s executive team as Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

Shin was most recently General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of Millennial Media, where he helped guide the company through its international expansion, initial public offering and follow-on offering through the company’s sale to Verizon/Aol. Shin has also served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory on matters involving data privacy and integrity. Before that role, he was General Counsel of Advertising.com, where he participated in the acquisition and integration of numerous companies — negotiating and launching international joint ventures and other corporate counselling.

“At Yext we have huge ambitions and are building a company that will stand the test of time,” said Howard Lerman, Yext Co-Founder & CEO. “Ho brings with him the broad legal experience we’ll need to navigate the critical moments of change and growth ahead. We couldn’t be more excited to add him as a foundational member of our executive team.”

“Yext has brought together a really incredible group of people,” said Shin. “Everyone this company works with, from employees to customers, is top notch. I’m excited to join this powerhouse executive team at such a critical time in the company’s growth. I look forward to helping Yext continue to expand and chart new territory.”

Shin received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University and his BSc from the University of Maryland. Shin began his career as a litigation associate at Arnold & Porter in Washington. He brings over 20 years of legal experience to Yext.
